Chinar Set
In Srinagar, embroidery has never been decoration. It’s a record — of winters spent indoors with a needle instead of words, of patterns passed from a mother’s hand to a daughter’s, repeated so many times they no longer need to be drawn before they’re stitched.
This kurta carries that record. The yoke and sleeves are embroidered entirely by hand in olive green, dense with florals and paisleys that take their shape from gardens the embroiderer may never have seen, only imagined. A red patchwork placket runs down the front, a quiet break in colour that makes the rest sing louder.
The base is ivory — left untouched, left to breathe, because not every inch needs to be filled to feel rich. Paired with a multicolour printed dupatta, the look becomes complete: structured where it needs to be, soft everywhere else.
This isn’t a kurta with embroidery on it. It’s embroidery that happens to be wearable.
