The Zilaan Set
there is a particular green that only appears at the start of spring in the hill towns — new leaf, not yet deep, still catching light rather than holding it. the zilaan is cut from that colour.
a farsi silhouette: dropped shoulders, a kurta that moves rather than sits, trousers that pool softly at the ankle. the yoke carries dense zardozi and mukaish work, tracing a jaali lattice that gathers into a single medallion at the chest — the way a courtyard gathers toward its fountain. the hem finishes in a scalloped lace border, left slightly uneven, the mark of a hand rather than a machine.
this piece was made-to-order by artisans working in traditional zardozi, each set taking several weeks from thread to finish. as with every SURYAAT piece, no two are entirely alike.
styled here with a temple-cut choker and antique gold jhumkas, though the set stands easily on its own.
